ABA Therapy

What is ABA Therapy?

Applied behavior analysis, or ABA, is a scientific approach to teaching. At Let’s Talk ABA Therapy, we teach your child in an individualized manner. We adapt the teaching methodology to the child and not the other way around. As a result, children will learn socially significant behaviors and skills needed for success.

The principles of applied behavior analysis is always our foundation to teach children a variety of useful skills. For instance: imitation, receptive language (such as following instructions), expressive language (making requests, label observed things, ask questions, and respond to questions asked). Other examples include: social skills, playing skills, daily living skills and academic skills.

How does ABA Therapy work?

Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) create an individualized plan for each child after a thorough assessment. Analysts monitor your child’s progress periodically and they update the plan as the child evolves. Also, they put in place systems to record the frequency or duration of negative behaviors, such as, tantrums or aggression. After a functional assessment is conducted, analysts create interventions to replace problematic behaviors with appropriate ones. Finally, analysts also provide training and supervision to technicians who directly implement the plan.

In fact, scientific research has demonstrated that ABA Therapy is the most effective treatment for autism when delivered consistently by trained professionals. The need for more personal ABA agencies motivated the creation of Let’s Talk ABA Therapy. We are committed to providing technicians with abundant quality training and supervision. We want families to have the support necessary to overcome behavioral obstacles.
